What are the two types of Power Apps?

There are two types of Power Apps: Model-driven and Canvass app.


Model-Driven Apps is an AppModule that allows users to create component-focused apps to implement an end-to-end business process. It can connect to and interact with only one data connection, which is Data Verse. It can an implement logic in various ways, including business rules, workflows, actions, and plug-ins. To deploy and develop Model-Driven Apps, one must have

Dynamics 365 Product Licensing.


Canvas App is an AppModule that allows users to create task-specific apps with design flexibility. It may connect and interact with over 350+ Connectors, allowing users to have extra features. Logic implementation in a canvas app is app-specific and can be accomplished using Excel-style formulas and conditional checks. To develop Canvas Apps, one must have the Power Platform license and necessary roles and permission in Data Verse.


Does Power Apps come with Office 365?

Yes, it does.


How much does it cost?

Anyone with a Microsoft 365 subscription is already licensed to use the basic capabilities of Power Apps. For additional capabilities, you will need a premium license which can cost as little as $5 per month per user per app, or $20 per month for unlimited apps. Also, if users have Dynamics 365 license, then Power Apps can be deployed in the Dynamics 365 environment for no additional cost.
